Gemini can now help you to polish up your drafts in Gmail
Google has introduced a new "Polish" feature within Gmail's "Help me write" functionality, powered by its Gemini AI. This feature is designed to assist users in transforming rough email drafts into polished, professional communications.
Google has announced the "Help me write" feature on its blog that, alongside options like "Formalize" and "Elaborate," Gemini now offers a "Polish" feature to help improve your emails. They’ve also added shortcuts for these tools in the body of your emails on Android and iOS, making it easier to find and use AI writing aids.
If you have a Google One AI Premium account or have paid for the Gemini add-on for Workspace, you can use this new writing tools in your Gmail. The Gemini's polish actually works in the sense that when you start a new draft in your Gmail, you'll see a “Help me write” shortcut that lets Gemini draft text for you. Once your draft has at least 12 words, a “Refine my draft” shortcut will appear, allowing you to make further improvements.
The "Polish" tool helps turn rough notes into a well-structured email with just a click. You can also choose to formalize, elaborate, or shorten your text as needed. These shortcuts, like “Help me write” and “Refine my draft,” are now easily accessible in the email body for a smoother writing experience. After typing at least 12 words, you can tap a pencil icon to use the Polish tool, which refines your draft.
As earlier said, remember that this feature is available to users with Google One AI Premium subscriptions and those with Gemini Business, Enterprise, or Education add-ons. It works on Android, iOS, and web platforms.
The Gemini Polish's "Help me write" feature is designed to boost productivity by helping users create polished, error-free emails quickly, saving time compared to starting from scratch. You can swipe across your text to see options like Polish, Formalize, Elaborate, or Shorten, or have Gemini create a new draft for you. If the “Refine my draft” shortcut doesn’t show, tapping the pencil icon will do the same job.
